Conferencing
Restorative Justice Conferencing is a process that provides victims the opportunity to address the juvenile offender and express how the crime has impacted the victim's life. Victims have an opportunity to receive information about the program and share their concerns prior to the conference. Trained facilitators assist both the offender and victim in a discussion of the facts and impact of the crime committed. Participation by a victim is strictly voluntary. The factors used to determine whether or not an offender is appropriate for this program are the juvenile’s acceptance of responsibility, the type of crime, degree of remorse, and the offender’s general attitude about the meeting. Participation by both the offender and the victim increases understanding and develops a healing process. Please contact us for more information about this program and the referral process.
