Nova Services Project Payback

Project Payback is an opportunity for juvenile offenders to pay back to victims and the community for their offense. This program stresses accountability and responsibility. It provides an opportunity for juveniles to learn from their negative behaviors.

Project Payback has three components:  Restitution, both from independent job placement and from supervised work crews; Community Service, both from independent site provision and through service crews; and a Municipal Court program designed to provide for an earlier intervention point in the offender’s behavioral cycle.

Circuit Court: Nova Services assists the juvenile with paying their victims and addressing their court-ordered obligations. We help to prepare the youth to seek employment. Once employed, we monitor payments made to victims until the restitution is paid in full. If a youth is unable to find a job due to age or behavior issues, Nova Services will schedule them to participate in supervised work crews. Nova will monitor payments made to victims until restitution requirements are met.

Municipal Court: Nova Services also helps juveniles pay their citations, along with seeking employment opportunities to pay their fines. Like the Circuit Court program, Nova may direct juveniles to participate in supervised work crews. Nova also monitors payments until Municipal Court ordered obligations are met.

Community Service opportunity: Nova Services unites youth with  community service worksites. We monitor the youth’s attendance, behavior, and performance along with the completion of court-ordered hours of service.
